Work Xmas Parties

It was a very big weekend - Friday was Tarsh's work do at my place, a bit of a BBQ and a singstar championship and Saturday night was my work do.

Friday night was a great one, the singstar was still cranking after midnight (even though some friendly neighbour set noise control onto us at 9.50pm!!) There were some very sore heads the next day.

Then after a day of lying in bed recovering it was time to dress up for my work do. The theme was "take your opposite" so Tarsh and I went as John Howard and Helen Clark. We were quite stoked with our costumes, although I have to say my mask handling skills were far better than Tarsh's...

It was another great night and after such a large weekend we are looking foward to a quite couple before the trip home on December 21st.

Jonelle and Charles Wedding

Well it finally came!!

It was a really beautiful day, a few clouds and a bit of wind but nothing could get in the way of my little sisters wedding!

We were at the hair salon at 8am after bugger all sleep (jonelle was so excited that she didnt go to sleep till almost 1am and woke us all up before the sun) and had a frenetic morning of curlers, hair clips and Carrie-Anne creating masterpieces on our faces (it was no small feat covering up the bags and spots - she did an awesome job!)

After that it was back to the hotel for a bit of down time (and a few bubbly-redbulls) and into our dresses. By the time the cars arrived to pick us up we were still not all dressed and by the time we got to the ceremony at mum and dads we were almost half an hour late. Poor Charles probably thought that she had got cold feet at the last minute! But nothing of the sort, Jonelle couldnt wait to walk down the aisle to her husband.

Dad did a sterling job walking her down, he looked so proud! And I wish I could show you Charles' face as he watched them, he was looking at her with so much love, I ended up bawling the entire ceremony (and for about half an hour after!) because they wrote their own vows, and they were so lovely too. (the video is in production)

After the hard part we went to the mount beach for some photos, then off to the Elms for a few as well.

The reception was at mills reef, the food was amazing, so good!! It was a shame our corsets wouldnt allow us to squeeze more in - I could have pigged out to the maximum!

After that there was a lot of dancing, drinking and laughing. It really was an awesome day all round, so emotional and happy. And it freaked the hell out of me, I dont think I want to do it now!!

They have gone to Raratonga for two weeks on their honeymoon, so will be lovely and tanned and relaxed when they get back. So jealous!

Sunday the 3rd of September, I jumped out of a plane @ 14000ft (4270m) and had a free fall of over 60 seconds @ Mercer airfield in Auckland... Snow Boardin' @ Turoa

The weekend of the 19th and 20th of August a group of YP's headed down to Mount Ruapehu for a weekend in the snow. A great weekend was had off the mountain (...socialising and drinking...) and we even got to play up the mountain, unlike last years trip... Saturday started with a full breakfast trying to recover from the previous nights drinks and looking to hire snow boarding gear from the bottom. After some group decision making we jumped in the GHD car and headed up the mountian to deal with the crowds there instead. We had a great day in the snow, at times dealing with large crowds as the Upper Mountain was closed due to high winds. Saturday night was very quite, some very tired and sore bodies. Sunday the mountain was closed due to gale force winds hitting the slopes and so after another big breakfast and some group photos @ the Ohakune carrot, everyone hit the road. A few photos from some of the YP's...

Waiheke Island

On the Weekend, Tarsh and I caught a ferry over to Waiheke Island to catch up with Mike, Maureen, Pam and Graeme, for an early 60th for Mike and just for a general catch up. I can tell you one thing from the weekend and that is, it was f..... cold. A few photos of Waiheke and the trip over. . . . .

Carnarvon Photos

Continuing on with our WA holiday, Mum, Tarsh and Myself drove to Carnarvon for the day. When we got there we picked up my nana and drove to the Blowholes for a picnic lunch with Kylie, Brett, Ryan and TJ. Tarsh and I had a great day, we walked along the beach, visited the blowhole and hand fed some tropical fish. We drove back to Carnarvon for a great Roast Dinner with Rae and Gordon and relaxed in the spa with a beer and wine. Some photos whilst in Carnarvon. . .

Perth Photos

Whilst on Holidays in WA I got to see another part of Perth and that was from the 'tourist' point of view. I visited places I had never been before and enjoyed spending the day with Tarsh. Considering I was recovering from a slight hangover from the wedding, we walked around Kings Park which has great views over Perth and the Swan River with a great tree top walk, the tour also included a visit to the noisey Swan Bell Tower, which at the time happened to be ringing. As you can see in the photos another great day in WA. . . .
